Every year at GCPL in Early Spring we raise caterpillars & watch them grow into butterflies. When they are ready, we release them in our Pollinator Garden. Butterflies are ready to be released near the end of May! Keep coming back in to see the change!

Kite Building Workshop

Tuesday, April 8th, 5:30-7:00pm, Ages 8+
April is National Kite Month, and we are celebrating! Join us to learn the history of kites from around the world, and discover the power of the wind. Make and decorate your very own kite to take home with you! All supplies provided. Registration required. Please call 208-472-2942 to register.

Bug Club Storytime

Friday, April 25th, 10:30, Ages 3-7
Join the Bug Club! Creep, crawl, and squirm in for a Bug extravaganza. We will be reading, creating, and learning all about insects in this special storytime designed for little learners. After a brief storytime we will have a buggy craftivity, and each child will leave with a Bug Club membership card!

Crafty Kids: DIY Chia Pets

Wednesday, April 30th, 5:30pm, Ages 6+
We are making our veryown Chia Pets! Learn about the process of plant growth, personalize and create a face for your botanical buddy then bring them home and watch their grassy hair grow!

A Spring Soirée – At The Park

Wednesday, April 16th, 5:30-6:30pm, All Ages
Celebrate the season with otter pops, games, a scavenger hunt, a bounce house, books, and fun crafts! Learn all about our upcoming events and show your appreciation for librarians by making a card for your favorite one in honor of National Librarian Appreciation Day. Don’t forget to sign up for your library card!

Toddler Tunes & Tales

Gear up for a whirlwind of fun with our energetic storytime! It’s a perfect blend of captivating stories, toe-tapping tunes, groovy moves, and loads of learning! After storytime we will dive into 30 minutes of open play, complete with rotating take-home treasures such as books, crafts, and learning materials.

Mad Hatter Tea Party

Attention all Sith apprentices and Young Padawans, we’re blasting off into Star Wars month! The Force is strong with this one as we prepare for thrilling games, dark side crafts, raffles, and an epic scavenger hunt. Show off your Star Wars knowledge for a chance to win bragging rights and a bounty of prizes! But that’s not all, complete your training with a special obstacle course and face the ultimate choice: will you join the Dark Side or the path of the Jedi? Costumes are definitely encouraged.
