Idaho Family Reading and Togetherness

Celebrate family and literacy by reading together during the month of November! We want children to know that reading is rewarding, so each family member who reads the book will earn a prize. This year’s title is Sideways Stories from Wayside School, by Louis Sachar. Read the story aloud or as a family book club. Either way, you earn a prize! Pick up a free copy of the book at the library, while supplies last, starting November 1st. Don’t forget to attend our fun Idaho Family Reading Celebration. Details below.

Introducing a New Storytime ~ Family Storytime

Mondays, Starting November 6th, 10:00am, All Ages
A storytime for the entire family to read, sing, and learn together. Make sure to stay after storytime for a themed craft!

Dinosaur Storytime

Friday, November 17th, 10:30am, Ages 3-8
Did you know dinosaurs LOVE to read? Come join some dinosaur friends for this special themed storytime. We will have some dinosaur friends for you to adopt and take home, you just have to promise to read to them every day!  Registration required, call (208) 472-2942 to register.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover & PJ Storytime

Wednesday, November 8th, 6:00pm, All Ages
Bring your favorite stuffed animal for a sleepover at the library! Join us for a special PJ Storytime and leave your stuffed buddy for a night of fun! If you cannot make it to the storytime, please drop off your buddy during open library hours on Tuesday. Pick them up Wednesday, anytime after 2pm. When you pick up your buddy you will get a picture collage of all the fun they had with friends!

Idaho Family Reading Celebration

Wednesday, November 29th, 5:30-6:30pm
Join us in our celebration of family reading! The festivities will include cupcakes, crafts centered around the book, literacy activities, games, and a raffle. You do not want to miss this carnival-like celebration of reading!

Puppet Show

Monday, October 9th & November 20th, 11:00am, All Ages
Join library friends every month for a fun family-friendly performance, and stay after for a craft.

Kindergarten Readiness

Wednesdays, 11:00am, Ages 3-6
New session starts October 11th
This special 6-week program meets once a week to help prepare children aged 3-6 for Kindergarten. Each week, we will learn about the alphabet, cutting, writing, numbers, shapes, classroom skills, and a special topic! Limited Spaces.  Registration is required. Please call (208)-472-2942.

Preschool STEAM Storytime

Tuesdays, 10:00am, ages 3-7
It’s time for hands-on learning every week with stories, songs, and activities that will spark a love for reading and learning!

Toddler Tales

Wednesdays, 10:00am, ages 18 months – 3 yrs
A short storytime with songs, rhymes, and movement to engage little readers.

Music & Movement

Thursdays, 10:00am, ages 1-5
Wiggle, jump, bounce, and clap! Movement and songs to support growing readers.

Tween Zone

Thursdays, 5:00pm,  ages 8-15
Join us for an awesome new activity each week! Science experiments, art projects, or games. No matter what the activity, it is gonna be a fun time with friends. Snacks are always provided!
