Four Stage Plan

Stages 1-4 are only possible if the Library can obtain enough PPE.  Items needed to remain open are:

  • Disposable disinfecting wipes
  • Disinfecting liquid
  • Cloth rags
  • Masks
  • Disposable gloves
  • Brown paper bags

What we think we know:

  • The virus lives on surfaces for 3 days
  • Masks are most helpful when both parties wear them
  • Individuals need to stay 6 feet apart throughout all stages
  • Time is the best disinfectant for library materials
  • Handwashing and not touching your face is the best protection for individuals

This is a time for the Library to focus on needs and not wants.  Patrons need:

  • To stay at home, books could make this tolerable – Curbside
  • Access to the Internet – WiFi and emergency computer lab
  • Access to kids’ books to maintain schooling – Curbside
  • A safe place (from home environments and from Mother Nature) – Chamber Room
  • Access to facts – Reference services
  • Interaction with others – Virtual programming and Reference services
  • Escape from reality, books can do this – Curbside

Stage 0 – Stay at Home Order

  • Library is closed
  • All staff isolate at home
