Creative pursuits, like painting, are wonderful ways to maintain & improve cognitive function as we age. Studies have shown that mentally stimulating activities and learning new skills, can improve your overall health. This 8-week program is intended not only to teach you a new skill in watercolor painting but to create an opportunity to engage socially with other older adults. Each week, we will meet for a class taught by Professional Teaching Artist Veiko Valencia. Join us to learn basic watercolor techniques all the way to finishing a final piece for display. Please plan to attend all 8 sessions to get the most out of this valuable class. We will have a celebratory reception on October 14th, where all participants will display their favorite piece from the workshop.
Limited spaces available. Registration required. Must be 55 + and did not attend previous class.
This program is made possible by a grant administered by the Idaho Commission for Libraries with funding from the Idaho Commission for Libraries, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Arts Idaho, and Lifetime Arts. Additional support is provided by the Idaho Commission on Aging and the Idaho Division of Veterans Service.
